1982

Wednesday, July 7 — David takes to the air for the first time at 10:00 p.m. following Tom Wheeler.

August-December — The program airs Thursday mornings from 6-10 a.m., and during August 1982 also on Tuesday mornings. David is not a morning person, but learns to enjoy early morning radio.

 

1983

January-June — On the air Monday afternoons 2-6, and alternate late Saturday nights, following Capital Radio with Brad Morrison.

July — The program switches to Sunday morning at 10:00, where it has remained for 20 years.

 

1985

"The Sphere" by Rush is adopted as the opening theme for the program. Cheech & Chong's "Dave's Not Here" routine is also frequently heard as the lead-in. "Grown Up Fish" by Tiny Lights is often used as the closing theme.

 

1991

"I Need Your Help, Barry Manilow" by Ray Stevens becomes the unofficial closing theme.

 

1992
"Sunday Morning Coffee" by Chip Davis is adopted as the background music for mic breaks.
 

1997
Morning Mommy Update becomes a regular feature from 12:30-1:00 p.m.
 

2003
Morning Mommy Update moves to 1:30 p.m.

In an unprecedented upheaval and use of power by the Program Director, WPKN goes to three-hour shifts. Morning Maniac Music ends at 1:00 p.m. and Morning Mommy Update is dropped from WPKN's program schedule.
